Henrietta Molinaro British Italian, b. 1979

Henrietta Molinaro is an artist of English and Italian origin who was brought up in rural Tuscany. Based in North West London, her work is inspired by nature and rediscovered forms. She first studied fine art in Florence and Rome, later continuing with a degree in graphic design at the London College of Printing.

"My background in photography and design play an important role in shaping my approach to image making - where each discipline will often inform the outcome of the other".

After graduating with a first class honours degree, Henrietta worked as a designer and collaborated on projects with notable London designers before taking the decision to focus more fully on her own art. Shifting from experimentation with early photographic methods into painting, her practice has become increasingly abstract. Colour, form and composition are at the core of her work providing each image with its own individual character. Exploring the relationship between positive and negative shapes where both elements coexist in an invisible dance, the translucency and vibrancy of the watercolours are reminiscent of light in nature.
